Students majoring in Neuroscience will pursue a minor or supporting program
in computation or a physical science, and those majoring in any of the other disciplines will minor in Neuroscience. A typical fellowship term will be two years, with support for other years in the form of a teaching assistantship or research assistantship.
Since the Neuro-physical-computational Sciences Training Program is interdisciplinary, a variety of academic backgrounds is appropriate. Applications from students with undergraduate degrees in the biological, physical, and computational sciences will be considered. Fellowships are available for both US citizens/permanent residents and foreign nationals.
The 12-month fellowship stipend is $20,772. Fellows receive a tuition waiver and health insurance benefits. All graduate students must pay 5% (less than $100) of the annual health insurance premium. Fellows also receive a travel allowance to attend one professional meeting during the year.
Applicants must submit:
- Personal Statement including your immediate and long-range career plans
- Three Letters of Recommendation (Please arrange for these to be mailed
directly to Ms. Clinton)
- Complete Official Transcripts from all undergraduate (and, if applicable,
previous graduate) institutions in which you have been enrolled
- General Test GRE scores (Photocopy of official score report is acceptable)
Fellowships are contingent upon admission to the University of Minnesota Graduate School. For more information consult the Graduate School.
